This year, the contemporary dance studio of Ventspils Cultural Centre celebrates its anniversary entitled “25+2”. 11. On 11 December at 3:00 PM, the Theatre House “Jūras vārti” will be presenting a musical dance performance entitled “Time Travel” by the students of the dance studio “Prieks” and their instructor Everita Panfiļonoka.
It is a story about two sisters, the memories and adventures they share, and their meeting on the loveliest holiday of the year – Christmas.
The concert will also feature performances by the students of the contemporary dance studio of Ventspils Centre for Creative Learning “Skorpions” (instructor: Inga Spodiņuka) and Svetlana Grundmane’s Dance Studio “Deguntiņš uz augšu”. The concert is directed by Ineta Kalniņa.
“We are happy to share everything that we have – be it bread or house, thought or dream, song or dance … ,” explain the members of the dance studio “Prieks” and their instructor Everita.
The dance studio allows children to learn to dance in modern style to contemporary music and to tell their own story and adventure through a dance with a specific theme. The members of the dance studio actively participate in the events organised by the Ventspils City, such as the Children’s Festival, the City Festival, activities in the Children’s Town, various concerts held in the Cultural Centre and at the Theatre House “Jūras vārti”, during basketball games, as well as in a wide range of contests and festivals both in Latvia and abroad – in Lithuania, Estonia, Germany, Slovakia, and Hungary.
