This place plays an important role in the landscape and history of Jūrkalne. In the 17th century, this place was chosen for the Felixberg Manor. Its name was initially mentioned in old maps and documents, and it existed in the nature and documents for three centuries. Moreover, the Muižupīte River was named after the manor (which literally means ‘the river of the manor’).

The gravel road at the Muižupīte River is still at its initial place – as close to the sea as anywhere else in Kurzeme. One can easily access the sea along the river ravine, which is generally not always the case. It is appreciated by both mothers with children and elderly people. On warm and sunny days, this is a popular place for walks, swimming, and recreation.

  • The Muižupīte Beach has an access road.
  • There is also a boat ramp.
  • During the summer season, a WC is available.
