Actors Andris Bērziņš, Edgars Pujāts, and Imants Strads come together for the concert program “Nerātnie joki un dziesmas” (“Playful Jokes and Songs”).
This autumn, a lively concert program, “Playful Jokes and Songs,” featuring popular actors Andris Bērziņš, Edgars Pujāts, and Imants Strads, will tour across Latvia.
As the artists promise, the concerts will feature plenty of spicy jokes drawn from real life, engaging conversations with the audience, and discussions about the works of the popular Danish cartoonist Herluf Bidstrup (1912–1988), who is also well-known in Latvia.
For the musical portion of the program, the gentlemen have selected familiar favorites such as:
The iconic “Song About Hares” (from the movie “The Diamond Arm”)
The heartfelt “Oh, Trīnīt, My Heartflower,” once performed by the legendary actor Ēvalds Valters
“Where Is My Airplane?” from Prāta Vētra’s repertoire
Classics from Čikāgas piecīši, including “Three Old Ladies” and “The Shoemaker’s Apprentices”
“Money” from Brāļi Laivinieki’s repertoire
And more beloved songs.
“The whole life is full of humor, jokes, and misunderstandings—whether it’s about doctors, women, or money. The modern world is built in such a way that the only way to survive is by joking. I see life as a theater performance, full of humor! The humor lies in the fact that I’m still alive at all! And, in general, I’m not like everyone else. What has helped me survive is that, from the moment I wake up, I smile and sing. With a song through life! Smile, sing, joke, and see this world as a great comedy; otherwise, life will be the one laughing at you. Let laugh lines enhance your beauty, and let humor restore your health!” says actor Andris Bērziņš, inviting everyone to the concert performance.
