On March 1st, the outstanding and internationally acclaimed violinist Vineta Sareika will perform at the “Latvija” concert hall, presenting a joint concert program with the musicians of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, inspiring reflections on life and eternity.
Describing the program created for Ventspils and the concert hall “Latvija,” Vineta Sareika reveals that it will be both beautiful and soulful, yet imbued with a serious mood: “We will begin with the famous Barber’s Adagio for Strings, followed by Karl Amadeus Hartmann’s Concerto funebre, a deeply profound piece. It was composed in 1939, during challenging circumstances and a dark period, which unfortunately resonates with what we witness today. In the second part, we will hear the famous Schubert’s Death and the Maiden in an arrangement for string orchestra.”
An added value in Vineta Sareika’s concerts is the instrument she plays—a rare opportunity to hear the violin crafted by the legendary luthier Antonio Stradivari in 1683. “The Stradivari violin inspires me. While a modern instrument may have a few nuances, with this historic instrument, I can reveal a hundred thousand nuances even in the quietest passages. It’s like a bouquet of flavors in fine wine, something beyond description,” the violinist explains.
Vineta Sareika’s international career began in 2009 when she became a laureate of the Queen Elisabeth International Violin Competition. She collaborates with renowned orchestras such as the Philharmonia Orchestra in London, the Belgian National Orchestra, the Royal Flemish Orchestra, the Lisbon Philharmonic Orchestra, and the London Chamber Orchestra. She has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world. Sareika has also crafted programs with famous conductors, including Andris Nelsons, Paul Goodwin, Gilbert Varga, Jean-Bernard Pommier, Gérard Korsten, and many others.
In addition to the concert ticket, a VIP offer—“Music Lovers’ Club”—is available. This includes access to the “Greenroom” space on the second floor of the concert hall, where guests can use the cloakroom, enjoy refreshments, meet others, and experience exclusive encounters with the artists. (Price: €10).
