A Latvian full-length film. “My spirit is weak, but my will is strong,” the legendary Juris Kulakovs admitted to the director of the film “Artworks Are Born in Suffering.” Following the times in Juris’s eccentric hideaway, which reflects his turbulent life and exciting music, the viewer is sometimes drawn back into the absurd reality of Soviet restrictions and the brilliance of regained freedom, which, despite everything, often sounds like a foolish glorification. Through open conversations with Juris and his closest people, the film offers the viewer a glimpse into masks, art, and passion.
The entrance fee is 3 euros.
