2000. In 2000, an Ice Hall was built in the city of Ventspils, where one can practice short-track speed skating, figure skating, hockey, and curling on a daily basis. It also serves as a public ice rink.

In 2013, the Ice Hall underwent reconstructions, whereas the width of the ice area was increased from 29 m to 30 m to comply with the requirements for international short-track speed skating competitions.

The total area of the ice arena is 1970 m2. It has stands for the accommodation of 942 spectators, and also changing rooms, which can be used by 240 persons at the same time.

The Ice Hall is a popular place for sports and leisure not only among the locals – it is a place where the future figure skaters and hockey players from other Latvian cities and even from Russia, Belarus, Lithuania, Sweden, and other countries train on a regular basis.
