The most noticeable feature of the square in the center of the city is the shaped bushes – penguins, inverted cones, etc. and the “Millstone” fountain made of real millstones, reconstructed in 2009.
The name of the square marks the location of the historic South Mill. After the 2nd World War, the Komjauniė Square with diagonal paths, a large flower bed in the center, plaster busts of the leaders – Lenin and Stalin and the city’s Honor plaque was created here. The current design of the square has existed since 1995. 2004. gada pavasarī skvērā tika veikta teritorijas labiekārtošana – ierīkoti jauni soliņi, skvēra apgaismojums.
