The heart of the Old Town is the Town Square together with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Nikolay, Starptautisko Rakstnieku un tulkotāju māju (International Writers’ and Translators House), modern renovated City Library building and Digital Centre.
Near the Market Square, in Skolas street is located the latest tourism object of the city – Ventspils Amatu māja (the House of Crafts), which was opened in 2007. There is established a classroom of the 19th century, where during an attractive excursion is possible to feel the spirit of those days lessons
An oak tree planted in 1936 in honor of Archbishop Teodoras Grīnbergs grows in the town hall square, next to which is the ancient and meticulously maintained garden of the Ventspils Nikolay Evangelical Lutheran Church.
