This autumn, on the occasion of his 70th birthday, the public favourite actor Andris Bērziņš invites to a special concert programme “Nāc uz manām trepēm spēlēties”, which will also be performed in Ventspils at the Theatre House “Jūras vārti” on 3 October at 19 19:00
The ambitious concert programme, which will also feature special guests – singing actors Aija Dzērve, Mārcis Maņjakovs, Imants Strads, Edgars Pujāts, Jānis Paukštello, Gundars Grasbergs – will include songs from films, plays in which the jubilarian and his guests once took part, and other popular compositions: “Svētvakars”, “Es šonakt sēdēšu uz jumta”, “Brauciet lēnāk pār tiltu, draugi” (from the play “Džons Neilands”), “Upē naktī pīles kliedz”; “Un tūkstoškārt”, “Uz priekšu, Kurzeme, ar vēju” (from the musical “Tobago” by Uldis Marhilēvičs); “Ganāmpulks”, Druē’s song from the concert film “Skumjš stāsts par Keriju” and other works. The musical accompaniment will be provided by the instrumental ensemble “AR maestro” under the direction of Anatolijs Livča.
“Thanks to the production team of the singing actors’ concert programmes “Viena vieta uz brieža vēl brīva” and “O, kādi zēni”, the concert tour dedicated to my 70th birthday, called “Nāc uz manām trepēm spēlēties”, is finally ready, the first concert of which will take place at the VEF Culture Palace on 2 September. The concert will feature songs from the plays “Ceplis”, “Nāc uz manām trepēm spēlēties”, “Uz Tobāgo!”, “Māsa Kerija”, “Īsa pamācība mīlēšanā”, “Šerloks Holmss”, “Džons Neilands”, “Atjautīgā aukle”, “Mūžīgais unisons”, “Krodziņā pie Paula” and, of course, from the concert programmes “Attīstību veicinās cilvēki kas sveicinās” and “Svētvakars”. It will be a retrospective of the good old theatre, with songs by Raimonds Pauls, Imants Kalniņš, Zigmārs Liepiņš, Jānis Lūsēns, Uldis Marhilēvičs and my friend Uldis Stabulnieks. The concerts will also feature singing actors whom I value as my equals, respect and love, and with whom I have worked very well!” says the jubilarian.
Andris Bērziņš was born on 26 July 1952 in Līgatne. Since 1974 he has been working intermittently at the Daile Theatre (in “Ja mana sieva uzzinās”, “Elizabete, Anglijas karaliene”, “Ne tāds kā visi citi”, “Brands”, “Šerloks Holmss”, “Pēdējā barjera”, “Sapnis vasaras naktī”, “Džons Neilands”, etc. He has also played roles in the independent theatre “Kabata”, the New Riga Theatre, the Latvian National Theatre (in Zigmārs Liepiņš’ musical “Adata”), etc. He has also appeared in the films “Novēli man lidojumam nelabvēlīgu laiku”, “Pavasara ceļazīme”, “Akmeņainais ceļš”, “Šīs bīstamās balkona durvis”, “Aija”, “Vajadzīga soliste”, “Vecās pagastmājas mistērija”, etc., as well as TV series (e.g., the popular TV3 series “UgunsGrēks”, “Līduma dūmos”, etc.). Andris Bērziņš has also been involved in entrepreneurship, co-owner of the Theatre Club “Austrumu robeža” and the Independent Theatre “Kabata”. “. Together with Raimonds Pauls, Harijs Spanovskis and Jānis Paukštello, he received the Latvian Music Recording Award 2012 in the Best Schlager Album category; together with Raimonds Pauls, he received the Latvian Music Recording Award “Zelta mikrofons 2020” in the Schlager, Country or Rockabilly Music Album category. In 2010, the actor received the Latvian Actor Association’s annual award “Āksta kapure”.
