Before the annual summer flowers finish their glorious blooming, this week the planting of chrysanthemums has started in the beds of Ventspils, giving the city’s greenery an autumn feel. The planting work is being carried out by PSIA “Ventspils labiekārtošanas kombināts” on behalf of P/I “Ventspils Komunālā pārvalde”.
This week, the city’s planting beds will be replenished with 1,000 chrysanthemum plants supplied by SIA “Sedumi” from Jēkabpils. This week, the city’s planting beds will be replenished with 1,000 chrysanthemum plants supplied by SIA “Sedumi” from Jēkabpils. Chrysanthemums are to be planted in beds near the intersection of Kuldīgas and Lauku Streets, in the Children’s Town, in separate beds near the figurative flower sculpture “Flower Cow” in Sarkanmuižas Meadow, as well as elsewhere in the city where the changing seasons require replacing annual summer flowers with new plantings.
Despite the fact that autumn has already begun and the city is gradually getting its autumn flowers, Ventspils residents and visitors are still delighted by the 27,890 figurative flower sculptures, the 1,532 summer flowers in 86 flower pots around the city and the 3,450 plants that adorn 2,537 square metres of flower beds this season. The city is also still decorated with 19 summer flower pyramids, 178 flower boxes and 175 hanging flower pots.
