Klaidonim 20 – anniversary concerts and new album presentation.
In celebration of their 20th anniversary, Latvia’s most popular country music band Klaidonis invites everyone to a series of anniversary concerts and the presentation of their new studio album “Neko nejautā”.
The extensive anniversary tour will kick off on December 7, 2024, and will continue through to the spring of next year, taking place in concert halls and cultural centers across Latvia.
The concerts will feature songs from the new studio album “Neko nejautā”, which was created over a span of eight years and includes songs written by Māris Sloka. Alongside the new material, fans will also enjoy Klaidonis’ already beloved hits such as “Vecais skroderis”, “Tik ātri aizskrien laiks”, “Prieks”, and many more.
We certainly won’t leave out ‘Mazā dvēselīte’, which has already become the band’s signature song,
earning the title of Best Song at the 2005 Bauska Country Music Festival, and receiving…
the Copyright Infinity Award, as well as taking a convincing victory in the “Latvijas Šlāgeraptauja 2005”.”
hinting at what audiences can expect at the concerts,” says the band’s frontman Māris Sloka, adding: “We are…
confident that we will manage to create a heartfelt atmosphere, and, as has often happened in our
concerts, we will definitely have a good sing-along!”
In its 20 years of existence, the band has released eight studio albums, participated in every Bauska Country Music Festival, the national Eurovision selection, and other events. The name Klaidonis is well-known in Latvia: their music is loved by both country and schlager fans, as Klaidonis skillfully blends these two styles, adding elements of rock and blues. However, as Māris emphasizes, “it is and will always remain klaidoņmūzika” — unique in its enchanting sound, capable of being both romantically reflective and humorously down-to-earth.”
At the Klaidonis anniversary concerts, the band will perform in its full lineup: band leader, songwriter and lyricist Māris Sloka (vocals, bass guitar), Valdis Rebuks (guitar, vocals), Elmārs Jirgensons (drums), Vīgants Murelis (guitar, steel guitar), and Zigmunds Pogulis (keyboards).
