Ludwig van Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony is one of the best-known and most frequently performed classical works in the world. There is always something new to discover in the most famous symphony, and for the first time it will be performed in all its glory at the Concert Hall “Latvija”. Four notes, two tones – this is Beethoven’s formula for the most popular opening notes in music history. Is fate knocking at the door at the beginning of the Fifth Symphony? The Liepāja Symphony Orchestra and conductor Murat Cem Orhan will present their interpretation of this important work, which will be performed alongside Emmanuel Séjourné’s Marimba Concerto with percussion virtuoso Gunter Freiberg and Magnus Lindberg’s Absence (a tribute to Beethoven) in a spectacular concert in the five-year anniversary series of the Concert Hall “Latvija”.
