At the beginning of February, Mark Camoletti’s spicy comedy “Pajamas for Six” will be touring audiences across Latvia, staged by the outstanding director Herberts Laukšteins. The premiere of the new production is expected to take place On February 2 at 16:00 at the VEF Culture Palace. After that, the performance will be available to audiences across Latvia.
The cast will feature actors from Latvian theaters, including Inese Kučinska or Ilze Pukinska, Lelde Dreimane or Anna Nele Āboliņa, Anete Rimkus or Inga Krasovska, Egils Melbārdis or Toms Liepājnieks, Jurijs Djakonovs or Kristians Kareļins, as well as Januss Johansons.
Director Herberts Laukšteins says about the upcoming performance: “The characters are used to their daily routines, so they seek an escape from the monotony through love affairs. Various situations pull them deeper and deeper, until they fall into a web of misunderstandings and lies. This comedy is about the challenges of marriage and how unexpected twists can lead to unforeseen consequences, in which each person seeks their own key to happiness. We hope that the story we tell will entertain the audience and allow them to appreciate the ease of relationships.”
The main characters of the story are “tired” forty-year-olds who are facing marital problems. In an attempt to spice up his life, Bernard starts an affair with a young model, Suzanna, to whom he gives expensive gifts. Meanwhile, his wife Jacqueline, who is also bored in the marriage, begins an affair with her husband’s best friend, Robert. In the midst of this, a clumsy and culinary service maid, Suzette, arrives at Bernard’s house to prepare dinner. There, she gets caught in a whirlwind of misunderstandings, which she uses to her advantage, until her rough husband, Georges, arrives and clears up all the misunderstandings…
