This summer, 24 home cafes have signed up to participate, and to make it easier to visit several of them, we invite you to join us on both August 17-18 and August 24-25. All cafes will be open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with the opportunity to linger afterwards.

On August 17-18, you can enjoy meals in Vārve, Tārgale, Piltene, Užava, Jūrkalne, and Ventspils. On August 24-25, the cafes will be in Usma, Ugāle, Puze, Pope, Ance, Tārgale, and Zlēkas.

Let’s introduce the hosts who will welcome you on August 17-18:

  • Host Everika on August 17th at “Saknītes” in Vārve Parish will offer chanterelle soup cooked over an open fire – food cooked on a real fire is always the most delicious – and chicken shashlik. Desserts and drinks are also on the menu. For dessert, there will be famine pancakes with chocolate sauce and Panna Cotta. You can eat on-site or take it to-go.
  • Dace Āboliņa’s bakery on August 17th will host at the home cafe “Jampadracis un gardā izēšanās ar Burkā kundzi ‘Mazdēnavās'” in Tārgale. The Āboliņš and Jurkevics families invite sweet lovers. Not only will there be sweets, but also hearty homemade dishes. The hosts will serve solyanka, home-grown butter-fried potatoes, and stuffed cabbage rolls. Various pastries will be offered for dessert, both for eating on-site and for takeaway. Wine enthusiasts can taste “Mazdēnavas” wine.
  • Hosts Sandra and Egons on August 17-18 at “Cīrulīši” in Gārzde, Piltene countryside, will introduce you to their farm, where they bake bread and care for bees. Egons is a renowned bread baker known throughout Latvia. You can taste their homemade bread, chanterelle soup, various sweet dishes, cakes, pastries, and gingerbread, as well as coffee and tea.
  • Host Gelinta with her family and friends will welcome guests on August 17th at the “Cowboy Tavern” in “Laimiņas,” Dokupė, Tārgale Parish, serving lamb soup, thin pancakes, vegan pizza, and snacks, along with sweets and treats! The lamb and vegetables will be sourced from the organic farm “Kliņģeri.” There will also be a mysterious dish called pienslapnams – what is it? Visit and find out.
  • Host Rūta will await cake lovers on August 17-18 at the cafe “Rūtas karaliskie gardumi” at 15 Ventas Street, Ventava, Vārve Parish. She will offer a wide variety of cakes for on-site dining or takeaway. You can indulge in Rūta’s baked burger bread with grilled pork and fries, as well as grilled shrimp.
  • The Švarcs family will be delighted to see you on August 17-18 at “Bērzos Coffee” in “Ciekalos,” Užava Parish. “Bērzos Coffee” is a summer cafe nestled among birch trees and famous for its mini pancakes. Līva’s menu includes both small and large stuffed pancakes, as well as bubble waffles and famine pancakes.
  • Suitu host Taiga will welcome guests on August 17th at the cafe “Pie Jozupienes” in “Kaijas,” Jūrkalne. The hostess regularly offers homemade products and Suiti culinary heritage workshops. During Cafe Days, there will be an opportunity to taste traditional Suiti dishes, free from artificial additives – both for vegetarians and meat lovers, with options for on-site dining or takeaway.
  • The owners of “Bērziņi” farm bake bread according to ancient family traditions. On August 17th, at the cafe “Kukulīša ceļojums” in “Bērziņos,” Jūrkalne Parish, they will offer a tasting of bread and bread products, serving a variety of homemade bread and delicious pie, inviting anyone who appreciates nature, rural life, and farm animals.
  • The family business SIA “Dimensija AMRAI” will welcome guests on August 17th at the cafe “AMRAI, kopā būt” at 41 Skrundas Street, Ventspils. The family will offer a variety of salads, meat, and vegetarian dishes. During Cafe Days, there will be a wide selection of refreshing and warm drinks to suit various tastes, as well as sweets to satisfy different preferences.
