- On March 5th at 6:00 PM, the EZIS.LV association’s photography exhibition MORAVIA will be opened at the Ventspils Main Library exhibition hall (Akmeņu Street 2, Ventspils).
The opening event will be attended by the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Latvia, Martin Vítek, and his wife, Andrea Vítková. Photographic art professionals and enthusiasts from near and far, Czech entrepreneurs, world travelers, and all those who appreciate visual art are warmly invited.
Moravia, in the Czech Republic, is one of the most picturesque regions in Europe, beautifully captured in the artistic photographs featured in the exhibition. “The rolling, colorful landscapes of Moravian fields resemble living paintings – undulating terrain, soft lines, and a play of tones that shift with the seasons and the rhythm of light. It is a mesmerizing collaboration between nature and human artistry,” says Agnese Pastare, founder of EZIS.LV.
The exhibition features works by two photographic artists: Agnese Pastare and Ivars Salmanis.
Ivars Salmanis is a renowned Latvian and international photographer who was awarded the Latvian Creative Personality status in 2018. His works have been showcased in numerous solo exhibitions across Latvia, including VEF Culture Palace, the Dauderi Branch of the Latvian National Museum of History, and several libraries in Riga.
Since 2016, he has participated annually in four to five group exhibitions both in Latvia and worldwide – in Spain, Africa, Lithuania (including in a book), Estonia, and more. He actively competes in international photography contests, earning several prestigious titles.
Thanks to his extensive expertise, Salmanis is frequently invited to serve as a jury member in various photography competitions, including those organized by the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP).
Agnese Pastare has exhibited her works worldwide, including in Canada, Vietnam, Sweden, Portugal, Thailand, the USA, South Africa, Israel, Malta, and, of course, Latvia.
She is the founder of the Ventspils photography club KAKTUSS and has been actively showcasing her work in the club’s group exhibitions since 2019, typically participating in 2-3 exhibitions per year. In addition, she takes part in various group exhibitions, local and international photography workshops, and competitions, where she has earned numerous awards and even victories.
The EZIS association was created to develop various photography-related projects, including organizing photo trips. Participants are offered the chance to combine two passions: traveling and photography. The organizers have dedicated thousands of hours to exploring and discovering the most interesting locations, taking care of all the practical details.
The founder of the association, Ivars Salmanis, believes: “Beautiful places can be found just a few meters from our homes; you just have to know how to see them. Photo trips broaden our horizons and change the way we look at what seems obvious.”
The exhibition MORAVIA is the result of photo travel trips.
