On Saturday, March 29th, at 4:00 PM, singer Aija Andrejeva and the Ventspils Big Band will perform at the “Jūras vārti” theatre house, offering the audience the opportunity to sing along to well-known and beloved songs in the concert “Pink Rain.”
In the performance by the Ventspils Big Band and Aija Andrejeva, the audience will be treated to songs from the singer’s solo album “Mēs pārejam uz Tu” as well as the most famous hits of the legendary rock band “Opus Pro.” The arrangements for the concert have been specially created by Ritvars Garoza.
“We performed a similar program several years ago, but back then we did it together with my father. This time, the concert will be special because I will be taking my father’s place and performing his songs as well, which is why it’s called ‘Pink Rain.’ My father was also involved in the creation of the album ‘Mēs pārejam uz Tu,’ and at that time, we performed together a lot. It will be a powerful and musically rich event with the wonderful musicians of the Ventspils Big Band, who I can now confidently call my friends. Together with the audience, we will celebrate a beautiful musical legacy,” says Aija Andrejeva.
The Ventspils Big Band first collaborated with Aija Andrejeva 15 years ago, but several more programs with different lineups followed. Describing the concert “Pink Rain”, the leader of the big band Renārs Lācis promises that the audience will know this program well and will be able to sing it from the first song: “It is music that is great even without complicated arrangements, but the big band lineup will only make it more colorful. “Opus Pro” is a real trademark of Latvian rock, these songs have always been liked and will always be liked. It is very easy to work with Aija, and she inherited her strong voice from her father, so she can easily sing the “Opus Pro” repertoire.”
The concert is organized by SIA “Kurzemes filharmonija” with the financial support of the Ventspils City Municipality. Tickets are available at all “Biļešu paradīze” sales points and on the website bilesuparadize.lv.
