105 years ago, on November 18, 1918, the independent state of Latvia was proclaimed. By declaring the Republic of Latvia, the Latvian people’s right to self-determination was realized. The declaration of the Republic of Latvia gained complete legitimacy after the meeting of the Latvian Constituent Assembly in 1920 and as a result of the process of international recognition of Latvia.
The life story of the “Jumprava” group has been going on for more than three decades. “Jumprava” reached the peak of fame in the late 1980s and early 1990s, when they became teenage idols. The group is characterized by socially active texts combined with the use of modern electronic instruments. The songs created by the group have become symbols of their time – “Peldētājs”, “Baltā”, “Ziemeļmeita”, “Šeit lejā”, “Vēlreiz” and countless others.
