23:00 “Run with the ferry!”
The race will start at the Ventspils Ferry Passenger Terminal at 23.00 and finish at the end of the South Pier. The fastest will receive valuable gifts, the main one being a free ride on a Stena Line ferry. Participants will be invited to celebrate the summer months with a party on the pier. The distance is 4 kilometres and everyone is invited to try their hand. The run will start at the ferry passenger terminal at 6 Dārzu Street with the departure of the ferry from the pier at 23.00 and continue along the newly renovated Ostas Street to the parking lot of the Harbour Master’s Office, then turn down Loču Street to bypass the fishing and marina areas and continue to the South Pier. To win the race, the South Pier light marker must be reached before the Stena Line ferry.
The gathering and registration for the race will start at 22.00 in the parking lot by the ferry terminal on the Venta side. The race will start at 23.00, so runners are welcome to bring torches to light the way.
After the race, everyone is invited to linger at the South Pier Square by the sculpture “Matrozis the Cow” to celebrate the start of the summer and holiday season together.
