On March 6th at 7:00 PM, the Ventspils Culture Centre will host the performance “The Truth About Raising Children 2” by Rihards Čerkovskis.
It is a humorous storytelling performance (audience will not be required to stand) with musical accompaniment and elements of improvisational theater. The goal of the performance is to provide support to all parents who face various challenges in the daily processes of raising children.
Čerkovskis about the performance: “Last year (in the first part of this performance), my task was to take on the role of a ‘neurotic’ father, who shares the difficulties he faces as a father of two children. I portrayed a dad with deep psychological issues, who blamed his children for all his failures simply because he was not ready for the role of a father.”..
This year, on stage, my task is to play the completely opposite role of a father – a balanced, compassionate, wise, and knowledgeable man who has understood the secrets of raising children and has now become a kind of “parenting coach,” teaching a wider audience “how to properly raise children.”
However, not everything goes so smoothly, because just because we learn something theoretically, it doesn’t necessarily mean we will succeed in applying it practically…
Since I have also organized many children’s parties and camps in my life, during the performance I will also share memories from this “wonderful” time… I’ll joke about children, parents, grandparents, godmothers, teachers, and even pregnant women. In short, it will be The Truth About Raising Children 2! I believe this will be a fun adventure, so bring a good mood with you and be ready to laugh a lot – see you at the performance!
This time, comedian Rihards Čerkovskis will be joined on stage by poet Miera Kūpa and pianist Aigars Paulis, who will together make the new (exciting) story even more colorful and interesting.
Admission to the event, as always, is for those 18 years and older.
