On 29 October at 12.00 at the Ventspils Culture Centre we invite you to the folklore event “My Father’s Land Belongs to Me” – in honour of Krišjānis Barons, the cornerstone of Latvian identity and the compiler of the “Latvian Folk Songs”.

Traditionally, as every year, on the last Sunday of October, a folklore event called “Barons Sunday” is held at the Ventspils Culture Centre. This year, the theme of the event will remind us of Kr. Barons’ walk from Tartu to Dundaga to describe our country.

Folklore groups “Pūnika”, “Sītava”, “Urdava”, “Pill tīn”, “Kāndla” from Ventspils Region and “Laipa” from Ventspils will share their views on the singing context of cultural heritage. Guests of honour will be the Rucava Ethnographic Ensemble.

Admission is free of charge.
