This summer, the Livonian Order Castle Museum in Ventspils is launching a series of exhibitions drawn from the Museum’s art collection, and titled in a colourful way. Until the end of August, the painting exhibition “ZAĻĀ” (GREEN) will be on show in the Castle’s galleries, and from 15 August, the exhibition “MELNBALTĀ.
The exhibition showcases part of the extensive collection of contemporary graphics that came to the Museum in 2009-2015, when the graphicmaking plein-air event “Ventspils Dokumenta” took place in the city of Ventspils.
The exhibition “MELNBALTĀ” features 63 works by 26 artists in various graphicmaking techniques.
The exhibition features works by well-known graphic artists Mārīte Kluša, Nele Zirnīte, Anna Orniņa, Lāsma Pujāta, Eva Vēvere, Ilze Lībiete, Māra Čačka, Ieva Nagliņa, Imants Krepics, Rūta Daubure, Aleksandra Boče, Inese Mīlberga, Ieva Saulīte, Kate Seržāne, Jeļena Tolobova, Anete Bajāre, Mētra Drulle, Ināra Garklāva, Paulis Liepa, Jekaterina Karpova, Zane Zlemeša and three Estonian artists – Mari Prekup, Lilli-Kroot Repnau, Al Paldrok.
The exhibition will be available until 1 October 2023, and will feature linocut, silkscreen, lithograph, etching and ink drawings.
