15 February at 14:00 – celebration of the writer Dorbe’s birthday at “Senču putekļi”, 1 Ērgļi Street
“I look forward to February impatiently”, wrote Herberts Dorbe in the ABC book he compiled, because “it is my birthday”. This year is the 129th February for Herberts Dorbe, teacher, local historian, writer. The writer enjoyed classical music, especially the works of Ludwig van Beethoven, and over the years students, writers and musicians were welcomed in the Dorbe family home. The guest books of the house bear witness to this.
This year, on the writer’s birthday, 15 February, at 14.00, music will once again be played in his home. Students of the Ventspils Children’s Music School will give a concert in the museum. Classical music will be performed by a violin ensemble, trumpeters, piano and vocalists. The concert for Dorbe’s birthday has been arranged by piano teacher Vineta Martinovska. The concert will also feature Herberts Dorbe’s violin, played by violinist Silvija Pēdiņa. The event will be attended by 4th grade students of Zūri Primary School with teachers Iveta Tindenovska and Laila Rutule.
