From July 21 to 23, the street sports and culture “Ghetto Games Festival” will take place in Ventspils for the 11th time, in which world-class athletes, amateurs and other fans of extreme sports will take part – the largest alternative sports and street culture event in the Baltics.
The main and brightest events of this year’s festival will be: the final of the Basketball Baltic League, who will fight for the prize of a ticket to the Laussane Masters tournament in Switzerland, “Ghetto Fight” will be an opportunity to see several combat sports, “Ghetto Dance” battle, in the skate park, as usual, the best Latvian and foreign drivers will gather and compete. Also this year, the Ghetto Food festival will take place, where street food culture literally merges in one rhythm with diverse and multicultural street sports, it will be complemented by various activities for families with children. During the festival, traffic restrictions and street closures are planned, as well as changes in the movement of public transport.
From July 21, 2023 at 18:00 until July 23, 2023 at At 00:00, road traffic will be closed on the section of Liela Prospekts from Ganību Street to Kuldīgas Street and from Kuldīgas Street to Aleksandra Street for the successful completion of the competition, as well as assembly and dismantling works.
It will not be possible for vehicles to move in the closed section of the street near the apartment buildings behind the “Rubīns” store. We ask that you park your cars at the Olympic Center “Ventspils” hotel or in the area around the Great Square.
