This year Ventspils will celebrate its 700+33rd anniversary. The organisers of the Festival have prepared many musical surprises for Ventspils residents and visitors, including the House Gospel Choir from the UK, who will provide a good energy boost before the spectacular fireworks display.
Led by Natalie Maddix for more than 10 years, the uniquely amazing sound of this vocal group brings together dance music and twelve energetic singers with perfectly polished voices. The programme includes cover versions of house, garage and groove tracks that have become dancefloor classics and are even performed in hip hop and RnB style. For example – Robin S “Show Me Love”, Livin’ Joy “Don’t Stop Movin”, Crystal Waters “Gypsy Woman” and the legendary KISS track “I Was Made For Lovin’ You”, which the choristers made together with legendary musician Nile Rogers and producer Oliver Heldens.
As the band members say about themselves: “We can’t all speak at the same time and have our voices heard, but we can sing together as one voice and be understood. We are one!” The European music press, in turn, describes them as a sparklingly stunning, brilliant and harmonious vision of dance music past, present and future.
Tom Jones, Kylie Minogue, Emilie Sande, Gregory Porter and DJ Jax Jones are just some of the musical greats with whom House Gospel Choir have shared the stage at major European music festivals from Ibiza to Denmark. They have collaborated with well-known artists such as Ella Henderson, Nile Rodgers, Rudimental, DJs Todd Terry, Armand Van Helden and others. Now, Ventspils will join the band’s extensive geographical touring schedule.
