In April, the following writers, poets, and translators will be working in the International Writers’ and Translators’ House: Aksels Hiršs (Latvia), Ilze Jansone (Latvia), Kris Demeanor (Canada), Deborah Willis (Canada), Zane Eniņa (Latvia), Rakel Helmsdal (Faroe Islands), Diana Svennes-Smith (Canada), and Rhonda Colis (Canada).
Supported by the Nordic Council of Ministers, the International Writers’ and Translators’ House continues inviting Nordic authors. One of such authors is Rakel Helmsdal from the Faroe Islands who has already written 25 books and is currently writing two new novels for children.
For the first time, it will be visited by the winner of the excellence scholarship provided by the International Writers’ and Translators’ House and the Ventspils State City Municipality, the author Aksels Hiršs. Latvian authors include the writer Ilze Jansone and the author of travel books Zane Eniņa.
Two writers from Canada are returning to the Writers’ and Translators’ House – the writer Deborah Willis and the writer, poet, and musician Kris Demeanor. They are accompanied by another two writers from Canada – the writer Diana Svennes-Smith and the poet Rhonda Colis.
The project is financially supported by the State Culture Capital Foundation and Nordisk Kulturkontakt.
